design Medium Voltage Switchgear XGN2- 12(Z) switchgear is of metal-enclosed cubicle structure, framework of the cabinet body is made of angle steel by welding, inside of cabinet is divided into circuit breaker chamber, bus chamber, cable chamber, relay chamber and so on, separated by steel plates. 1. The circuit breaker chamber is in the lower part at the front of cabinet, rotation of circuit breaker is connected with the operating mechanism by pulling rod, its upper connection terminal is connected to the upper switch disconnector, the lower connection terminal is connected to the current transformer, current transformer is connected to the connection terminal of lower switch disconnector, the circuit breaker chamber also is equipped with pressure release channel, once there is onset of arcing inside, itis able to release the pressure through the exhaust channel. 2.The bus chamber is in the upper part at the back of cabinet, in order to reduce the cabinet height, the bus is arranged in triangle, supported with porcelain insulator of 7350N bending strength, the bus is connected to the connection terminal of upper switch disconnector, bus chambers of two neighbor cabinets can be isolated. 3. The cable chamber is in the lower part at the back of cabinet, the support insulators inside the cable chamber can be equipped with voltage monitoring device, cables are fixed on the bearer, when the main wiring is the tie scheme, then this chamber is regarded as the tie cable chamber. The relay chamber is in the upper part at the front of cabinet, the mounting plate in the chamber can be installed with various relays, there is terminal block holder inside, the door can be installed with indicating instrument, signal element and other secondary elements, the top can be arranged with secondary miniature bus. 4. Operating mechanism of circuit breaker is installed on the left at the front, with operating and interlocking mechanism of switch disconnector above it. The switchgear is designed with double- side maintenance, the front side is for overhaul of secondary elements and circuit breaker, and maintenance of operating mechanism, mechanical interlocking and driving part of relay chamber, the back side is for maintenance of main bus and cable terminals, there is illuminating light in the circuit breaker chamber. There is an earthing copper bus thatis in parallel with the width of cabinet set below the front door, it sectional area is 4 x 40mm. 5. Mechanical interlocking: in order to prevent opening/closing the switch disconnector with loads, prevent opening/closing the circuit breaker by misoperation, prevent entering into the live chamber accidentally, prevent closing the earthing switch under live condition, and prevent closing with earthing switch, the switchgear adopts corresponding mechanical interlocking whose operating principle as follows: a. Power-off operation (running-overhaul) The switchgear is in working position, i.e. the upper and lower switch disconnectors and circuit breaker are in closing state, the front and back doors have been locked, and in live running, at this moment, the small handle is in working position. First, switch off the circuit breaker, push the small handle to the position "breaking locking", at this moment, the circuit breaker can't been switched on, plug the operating handle in the operating hole of lower disconnector and pull it downwards to the opening position of lower disconnector, take out the handle, and plug it in the operating hole of upper disconnector and pull it downwards to the opening position of upper disconnector, take out the handle, and plug it in the operating hole of earthing switch and push it upwards, until to the closing position of earthing switch, then pull the small handle to the position "overhaul". Open the front door first, take out the key behind the door to open the back door, now power -off operation is finished, maintenance personnel begins to carry out maintenance and overhaul to the circuit breaker chamber and cable chamber. b. Power-on operation (overhaul running) After overhaul, procedures for power - on operation as follows: close the back door, take out the key and close the front door, pull the small handle from position "overhaul" to "breakinglocking" , at this moment, the front door is locked, the circuit breaker can't close, plug the operating handle in the operating hole of earthing switch and pull downwards, untill to opening position of earthing switch, take out the handle and plug it in the operating hole of upper disconnector, push it upwards until the upper disconnector reaches closing position, take out the handle and plug it in the operating hole of lower disconnector, push it upwards until the lower disconnector reaches closing position, take out the operating handle, and pull the small handle to working position, now the circuit breaker can be closed.
